Josh Turner Concert

Hey guys! I don't know if you've ever heard of Josh Turner, but he is a really good country singer! I have the song "Why Don't We Just Dance" on my little song player thing which is by him, and I have a lot of other songs of his on my iPod. My family and I got to go to a concert of his in Milwaukee, here are some pictures! And sorry for the sideways ones...I can't get to face the right way!!!! haha

Lunging

Today I went to the barn my horse (Summer) is boarded at and I hadn't ridden her in a while so I thought I should lunge her first. I don't know if you know what lunging is or not, but all it is is that you take a lunge line and clip it to one of the sides of the horse's halter and then put the rest of the lunge line in one of your hands. Then you take a long whip and hold it in your other hand (the free hand which will be closer to the horse's back end). I just figured out today that my horse really doesn't know how to lunge at all! I thought she was just being naughty, but I figured out that she just doesn't know how to do it! The main point is to be by the horse's hip or close to his/her back end and then get the horse to move in circles around you while you hold the lunge line. Now, since she doesn't know how, I have to keep the lunge line really short so she'll learn. This must sound very confusing...so here's a video showing how it looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWDKLX1uXlg It explains it a little better also! Have a great day and, hopefully, learn how to lunge your horse! :)

Our Dog Bailey-UPDATE!

Thank you all soooo much for praying for Bailey! We haven't gotten the tests back for the cyst that was on her stomach yet, but we'll probably get them somewhere around Tuesday. The only thing now is that she is coughing a lot and can't eat anything otherwise she throws up...:(. She just keeps doing this weird coughing/gagging thing. We took her to the vet and they said that they thought it might just be from the tube they had to put down her throught when they did the surgery and hopefully will soon get better! So please just keep on prayin'!! :) Thank you very very much!

ONE MORE UPDATE*** Bailey is all better now and is doing wonderfully!!!! Thank you all for praying, it sure helped!! :)

Our Dog Bailey-please pray!

Our dog Bailey just had a small surgery. She had a small cyst on her stomach (which we thought was just a mole) but started getting bigger and then looked infected. We took her to the vet and they just had it removed and they stitched up the cut and now she is home. They are now doing tests on the cyst to make sure that it doesn't have any cancer in it. Please pray that she won't have any cancer and that she won't try to lick her wound (because otherwise we have to put a cone on her which she hates!). Thank you so much!!!! :)

Jumping!

Have you ever tried going over a jump on a horse? Well, I have with my horse and some of my friend's horses. The tallest jump I've ever gone over is probably about 4 feet high. This year I decided to go over some jumps again but i thought I should start with a small one (about one and a half feet tall). Well, there was a pole that wasn't completely underneath the jump, but a little in front of the jump. Summer (my horse) wasn't ready for it and thought she had to jump higher than she had to and I wasn't leaning forward. I flew onto Summer's neck and held on as tight as I could while she cantered after she landed the jump! I fell off of her and pulled her bridle right off with me! She just stopped and started eating the grass while I quickly got up and made sure I was alright!!!! So, some advice for you if you decide to go over a jump, LEAN FORWARD!!!!!!! And make sure there is nothing around the jump that makes the horse that you are riding misjudge it!
