Chickens

Hello again! Do any of you guys have or know anyone who has chickens??? I might get some chickens. We would really love to have fresh eggs and I just think it would be fun! Does anyone know if it is hard to take care of them? Do you know what their coops should be like?

Kittens in Hartland, WI- free to a good home!!!

There are these kittens at the barn my horse is boarded at that are free to a good home! I think they might be litter box trained. There are two girls and one boy. They are all snuggly and love to be pet and held! None of them are fixed or declawed. If you are interested, please let me know in a comment!!!! :)

This is one of the girls. She is so sweet!

Another great book!

Hey! Lots of the things I've posted on here are about helping animal's health or training...but a lot of the things that help us get along better with animals is learning about their character, what they like and don't like, and what just makes them them. If we learn more about their own qualities and instincts that God has given them, we can learn why they do and don't do things and will get a lot less frustrated when they do things we don't understand. I just began reading a book my mom bought me that is called "You and Your Horse: How to Whisper Your Way Into Your Horse's Life." It is about horse's character and instincts! It is really nice to know more about why horses do what they do. It also has little helpful tips that could help you get closer to your horse and to understand each other better! You can click on this link: http://books.google.com/books?id=1HEwBibjyQAC&printsec=frontcover&dq=you+and+your+horse&source=bl&ots=cwY1p6-mkr&sig=DWb_HjkFT2CRR67AuBtvqfYoDY8&hl=en&ei=o_ITTPyeE4KB8gbfq4CkCg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=5&ved=0CC0Q6AEwBA#v=onepage&q&f=false and it will take you to a page where you can look at some of the pages of the book and the contents and stuff. Have an amazing day on summer break!!! ;)

Show Sheen horse spray

There is this spray called Show Sheen that a lady at the barn my horse is boarded at showed me. It is a spray that makes horses' coats smoother and shinier and helps detangle their manes and tails! I got to spray a tiny bit of it on my horse, Summer, once before and it was soooo nice. It made her hair feel really smooth. I'm hoping to get it so I can spray it on her after I give her a bath!!!

Hey guys! I don't know if you've ever heard of Josh Turner, but he is a really good country singer! I have the song "Why Don't We Just Dance" on my little song player thing which is by him, and I have a lot of other songs of his on my iPod. My family and I got to go to a concert of his in Milwaukee, here are some pictures! And sorry for the sideways ones...I can't get to face the right way!!!! haha

Lunging

Today I went to the barn my horse (Summer) is boarded at and I hadn't ridden her in a while so I thought I should lunge her first. I don't know if you know what lunging is or not, but all it is is that you take a lunge line and clip it to one of the sides of the horse's halter and then put the rest of the lunge line in one of your hands. Then you take a long whip and hold it in your other hand (the free hand which will be closer to the horse's back end). I just figured out today that my horse really doesn't know how to lunge at all! I thought she was just being naughty, but I figured out that she just doesn't know how to do it! The main point is to be by the horse's hip or close to his/her back end and then get the horse to move in circles around you while you hold the lunge line. Now, since she doesn't know how, I have to keep the lunge line really short so she'll learn. This must sound very confusing...so here's a video showing how it looks like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWDKLX1uXlg It explains it a little better also! Have a great day and, hopefully, learn how to lunge your horse! :)
